There was a 'homey' player in the K League.

FC Seoul said on Sunday that it has recruited Bato Samuel (18), a Ivory Coast national who is about to graduate from Osan High School. Samuel, whose parents are both from Ivory Coast, was born and raised in Korea in 2006. He also grew up at Osan High School, a youth team under the Seoul club. He has been attracting attention for a long time due to his aggressive breakthrough with explosive speed. He is evaluated as a good finishing ability as well as strong shooting ability. He has achieved his dream by directly becoming a professional player thanks to the home-grown system that will be introduced from the 2025 season. Samuel will be named the first home-grown player in the K League. Samuel will join the team's training on Thursday and play with the Seoul players.

The Korea Professional Football Federation decided to introduce a home-grown system through the 8th board meeting held in December 2023. The K-League's home-grown system is to regard foreign national youth players as domestic players when registering as rookies if they have been active for a certain period of time as a member of a domestic amateur team.

A player who played for more than five years as a member of a Korean amateur team registered with the Korea Football Association until the age of 18 or more in succession contracts with a K-League club as the first professional team and registers as a rookie player is deemed to be a Korean player and is excluded from the quota for foreign players. Even after registration as a rookie player, registration of the K-League will be recognized as a Korean player. The K-League will be implemented from this season. The Korea Professional Football Association said it will grant one quota per team at the beginning of implementation and consider expanding the quota in the future. <Sports Chosun Exclusive Report in July 2023>

Daegu FC also embraced Ohsei through the "homeless" system. Originally from Shinheung Middle School and Ansan International Business High School, Ohsei joined Daegu through a free agent agreement. Analysts say that he has fast feet and outstanding one-on-one penetration skills. He can play as both wing forwards. Ohsei is a Ghanaian national, and he will join the pro league by benefitting from the newly introduced "homeless" system. With his aggressive talent and strong confidence, he will become a new offensive option for Daegu. 안전놀이터
